His services include sound recordist and production sound mixer, field recordist, sound designer and music composer. Derek has been in audio production for over 10years in the Pacific Northwest. His work has appeared on the Discovery Channel, The Biography Channel, and Oregon Public Broadcasting working on shoots for Ralph Lauren, Nike, Kaiser Permenente, Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods and many more.

Derek has a diverse history of exploration into sound. Beginning as a musician, he has been creating and collaborating in the Pacific Northwest music communities for over 3 decades. His music is about creating an environment, a raw stream of pure sonic possibilities. His approach is textural and in the moment. He uses a variety of instruments, field recordings, and tools to create an ecstatic listening space, evoking beauty, humor, wildness, and trance.
